n 1999, Gregory’s twenty-five year obsession with photography finally took priority over his work in the software industry when he decided to undertake photography full-time and to work to achieve another life-long goal—to publish a book. Having continuously used computers for his work and personal life since he took his first computer programming class in 1969, he was able to excel in the new world of digital photography. His first book was to become the best-selling book for his publisher and it was also one of the first books to focus exclusively on digital cameras.

As the creator and founding author for John Wiley & Sons successful “50 Fast” book series, his second book, “50 Fast Digital Photo Techniques” quickly became an Amazon “Top 25” best seller. Later on, Digital Photography Top 100 Simplified Tips & Tricks was to become Wiley’s all-time-top-selling photography book, and 50 Fast Photoshop 7 Techniques was picked as #4 on Amazon’s Top Books of 2004 in the “Digital Life” category. His ten books have been translated into more than a dozen foreign languages.

Since 1999, Gregory has exclusively used digital cameras and has published ten photography books, which has earned him the distinction of being an early adopter and leader in digital photography. Additionally, he has written for, or has had photos published in, numerous magazines including: Shutterbug, eDigital Photo, Inside Lacrosse, Digital Output, and Digital Creative Arts.

Gregory has presented at many conferences and workshop, and is the founder and host of one of the largest and most popular Yahoo! Forums with over 4,000 members. He has also served on more than a dozen Beta teams for major software vendors such as Adobe. He graduated with a B.S. degree in business with honors, with majors in Marketing and Management from the University of Utah.

Currently, Gregory is working on a book of true stories about homeless people with toned black, white, and gray photos, and he has nearly completed a fine-art photography book featuring many amazing tropical waterlilies with unique facts about the world’s most beautiful flowers. He continues to take photographs at top sporting events and is refining his signature portrait style using long-focal length lenses outdoors with natural light.

After more than thirty years of photographing nature, Gregory Georges is now focusing his camera on people using the same natural light and technique he uses for nature photographs. Whether the goal is to capture people in a motionless state, or participating in a fast-action activity, his ability to find and use soft outdoor light results in a wonderful and unique style that portrays people at their best. He also specializes in toned fine-art portraits, digital sound recordings, and multimedia photo presentations. Additionally, he can capture and present an entire story in a Gregory Georges Signature PhotoStory Book.
